(If you are not comfortable with ResEdit, please skip this section.) ZTerm provides a feature that allows you to indicate to ZTerm that zip files should be marked with a ZipIt creator. If you do this, then, whenever you double-click a zip file that you have downloaded with ZTerm, the Finder will launch ZipIt. Please read the following steps in their entirety before attempting this procedure. These instructions apply only to ZTerm version 0.9, not to 1.0 or its betas.
1. Launch ResEdit.
2. Use ResEdit to open a copy of ZTerm. Make sure you have a backup just in case something goes wrong.
3. Double-click on the ΓÇÿSTR#ΓÇÖ resource.
4. Double-click on resource ID 335, which should be called ΓÇ£Bin DetectΓÇ¥
5. String #4 should currently read ΓÇ£0pZIPpZIPPKΓÇ¥. Replace each occurrence of ΓÇ£pZIPΓÇ¥ with ΓÇ£ZIP ΓÇ¥. Do not forget the space at the end. The string should now appear as ΓÇ£0ZIP ZIP PKΓÇ¥.
Warning: There are two invisible characters at the end of this string. These characters must remain there. For this reason, I recommend that you do not select the entire string and re-type it, but rather just select the two ΓÇ£pZIPΓÇ¥s and change them.
6. Close resource ID 335 and open resource ID 330.
7. Scroll to the bottom and click on the row of five asterisks. Go to the Resource menu and choose ΓÇ£Insert New Field.ΓÇ¥
8. In the blank field, type ΓÇ£ZIP ΓÇ¥, without the quotes. DonΓÇÖt forget the space at the end.
